    No. SC Johnson’s food storage products, including Ziploc® brand bags and containers and Saran™ brand wraps do not contain bisphenol A (BPA).
  2. Why is SC Johnson talking about BPA?
    In recent weeks, media attention in Canada has focused around BPA, a chemical commonly found in some plastic products. As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of plastic food storage bags and containers, we want to make sure consumers understand that SC Johnson’s food storage products including our plastic products, Ziploc® brand bags and containers and Saran™ brand wraps do not contain BPA.
  3. What is BPA?
    BPA is commonly used in the manufacturing of many plastic products, however it’s important to note that SC Johnson’s plastic products, Ziploc® brand bags and containers and Saran™ brand wraps do not contain bisphenol A (BPA).
  4. I’ve heard a rumour that I can tell if a plastic product contains BPA by looking at the number on the bottom of the container. Is this true?
    No. The Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI) created the SPI resin identification code (also known as the material container code) to facilitate recycling of post-consumer plastics through the normal channels for collecting recyclable materials from household waste. There is no way to tell if a plastics product contains BPA by looking at the SPI resin identification code.
